Taiwan Part 3 : Hualien & Taroko National Park

After the fifth day in Taipei, we took the train to Hualien County, Xiulin Township. Taroko National Park is one of the most beaufiful of nine national parks in Taiwan and was named after the Taroko Gorge, the landmark gorge of the park carved by the Liwu River. The continual rising of the mountains combined with the erosive power of the Liwu River, Tarako are a true marvel to view. Besides the gorge, other attractions include aboriginal settlements, temples, museums, and numerous hiking trails for visitors to experience the true beauty of mountainous Hualien County and eastern Taiwan.
